Abstract:
In recent months, companies in the technological field has been retrenching workers and cut back on research. Apple on the other hand is succeeding in this downturn in the same way it thrived through the last. They invest and invent innovative products to path its way to a brighter future. Recently by updating the iPods and revealing the long anticipated iPhone, the portables have not only cushioned the worst of the economic downturn but also helped propel the company forward. The accompanying commercial platform, the iTunes store and App Store that Apple has built, is also a leader and serve as a role model for the industry to showcase how online- and cloud-based services should be implemented. The potent combination of the cool hardware and content-rich stores, served to further fortified and differentiate Apple’s position in the mobile universe, which is predominated by established mobile device giants like the Nokia and Motorola. Apple has through time shown to us that by keeping to a promise to deliver products that “just work” and feature deep hardware, software and cloud integration have a distinct advantage over things that are simply “cheap” in dollar terms only.Despite being one of the most exciting and sophisticated devices, developing application and content for this platform is not as hard as you think. Together with the AppStore, it has quickly become visible that this is a great avenue for independent developers to compete worldwide with big named software companies.
This technical seminar will show you how easily and quickly you could get your hands dirty and start your path towards the design for the next top selling apps. The session will be examples driven to help developers not familiar with Xcode to get started as pain-free as possible. The talk will cover some of the following topics:
- Getting Started: Xcode tool
- Objective-C 101: Covers the basic of Objective-C
- Cocoa: Using existing classes in Cocoa for UI
- Memory Management: Introduction to memory management on Iphone
- Real life Application: Demonstrate the ease of developing software
